No previous martial arts experience is required.
People of all levels and previous backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to attend. This will be a user friendly "introductory" class to the principles of Systema.
The content covered will be appropriate for both “beginner” and "advanced" martial arts practitioners interested in developing a better understanding of unarmed hand-to hand combat. This class will be very beneficial for anyone wishing to build confidence in working against both single and multiple opponents.
This seminar will include drills to develop understanding and skills in the following areas:
· Receiving and recovering from punches and kicks.
· Working with grabs, locks and throws.
· Using breathing and movement to release tension.
· “Floating Center” in movement.
· Learning to “listen” to your partner’s movement.
· Working with strikes to control your partner’s movement.
· Using multiple opponents to your advantage.
· Working from standing, ground and transitions in between.
· Breathing to calm the psyche and remove pain
